Inmates
Please
read
this
for
explanation.
Ads
run
for
1
year
and
you
must
post
a
NEW
AD
after
the
expiration
date
to
keep
them
up-to-date.
We
will
not
renew
an
ad
for
you.
All
ads
require
approval
and
will
not
automatically
show
up
in
the
listings.
While
the
approval
process
is
normally
quick,
please
wait
3-5
days
before
emailing
our
staff
about
the
status
of
an
ad.
If
you
placed
an
ad
correctly,
it
will
show
up
in
your
ad
list,
which
may
be
found
by
logging
in
here:
http://www.lostvault.com/penpals/login.asp
ONE
ad
per
inmate.
Please
check
to
see
if
the
inmate
has
an
ad
prior
to
posting
a
new
one.
If
you
post
an
ad
for
an
inmate
that
already
is
listed
here,
the
original
one
will
remain
and
the
new
one
will
be
removed.
You
must
maintain
your
own
ads.
Please
update
addresses,
text
and
photos
yourself.
Please
provide
the
complete
mailing
address
in
the
box
labeled
"address"
because
doing
it
that
way
is
much
easier
for
a
writer
to
obtain
the
correct
address.
Zip
codes
are
required.
The
City
and
State
boxes
must
be
filled
out
as
well
to
ensure
the
correct
position
when
sorted
by
state
in
the
pen
pal
listings.
If
the
inmate
requires
a
DOC#,
please
provide
one
for
them.
"Inmates
Not
Receiving
Mail"
is
reserved
for
unanswered
ads
that
have
been
on
LostVault
for
at
least
3
months.
Please
do
not
initially
place
an
inmate
in
that
category.
If
an
inmate
receives
mail
on
a
regular
basis
from
someone
other
than
family,
please
do
not
list
them
on
the
NRM
list
-
many
inmates
have
contact
from
NO
ONE
and
desperately
need
a
friend.
Please
do
not
post
your
ad
in
ALL
CAPS.
Doing
so
may
delay
the
approval
of
your
ad.
Sexually
suggestive
and/or
explicit
photos
will
be
altered
or
removed
at
LostVault
Staff
discretion.
LostVault
provides
this
service
free
of
charge
to
persons
who
wish
to
post
ads
for
prison
inmates
and
we
do
not
allow
those
that
have
charged
the
inmate
more
than
the
cost
of
postage
to
post
their
ads
on
this
website.
Should
you
charge
inmates
more
than
$1
to
post
their
ads
for
them
and
we
learn
of
this
practice,
your
ads
will
be
removed
immediately
and
you
will
no
longer
have
posting
privileges
on
LostVault.
We
will
also
take
other
action
as
we
deem
appropriate.
This
is
a
FREE
service
we
provide
as
a
courtesy
to
inmates.
Please
do
not
complain
about
how
we
do
things.
If
you
do
not
like
our
service,
there
are
plenty
of
pay
sites
you
can
use.
PEN
PAL
AD
POSTING
TIPS
To
maximize
the
chance
of
your
loved
one
obtaining
a
pen
pal,
please
provide
as
much
information
as
possible.
Saying
"Mr.
X
would
like
to
write
anyone"
is
normally
not
enough
to
entice
someone
to
write.
Be
sure
to
include
a
description
of
the
inmate's
interests
and
most
importantly
what
they
are
seeking
in
a
pen
pal:
gender(s),
religious
preferences,
just
friends
or
romance.
None
of
these
items
are
mandatory,
but
with
thousands
of
ads
posted
on
LostVault,
the
ad
will
need
to
have
something
to
attract
a
pen
pal.
A
photo
greatly
increases
the
likelihood
of
obtaining
a
pen
pal;
ads
with
photos
are
viewed
approximately
10
times
more
than
those
without.
If
your
ad
doesn't
post...
-
If
you
were
trying
to
upload
a
photo,
most
likely
it
is
too
large.
Please
resize
the
photo
to
less
than
800x800
pixels
and
try
the
ad
again.
- If
you're
a
slow
typist
and
the
ad
text
is
long,
the
ad
could
have
timed
out.
If
this
is
the
case,
try
typing
the
text
into
a
word
processing
program
such
as
Word,
NotePad,
or
WordPad,
then
copy/paste
the
text
into
the
ad.

you
