Description: Christopher White, who prefers to go by Amber Lynn White, is a transwoman in the Telford Unit at TDCJ. She is a kind soul who was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and now has to bear the weight of unfair consequences. Her childhood was fraught with this same unfairness, as her parents divorced when she was young, and her mother failed to protect her. Amber attempted to live with her father when she was a teenager, only to find his new wife unwelcoming. She became homeless before she was even 18 years old, and she eventually met Joey, with whom she fell in love. Unfortunately, after some time had passed, Joey went to visit a man he had some difficulties with, and took Amber along with him. There, Joey shot the man down in front of Amber. When they were caught, Amber was offered a better deal than life in prison to testify against Joey, but she refused, because she loved him.
Now, it's been just over 25 years in prison for her. Amber has met and fallen in love with another trans woman named Izzy. Together, they're dealing with the stress of surviving in prison, with careless guards who allow drugs into the establishment, and other inmates issuing death threats. It is because of these prison conditions that physical mail is no longer allowed. They need all the love and support they can get. From heartfelt letters to sending them a packet of coffee and cookies, they are incredibly grateful for whatever they receive. You will find a friend for life in Amber and Izzy, should you choose to reach out.
To reach out, you must create an account with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and become an "approved sender" in order to write letters via jaypay. Amber will only receive letters on her prison tablet. Paper mail will no longer be delivered. If you need help setting up contact, please feel free to message me!
